🎞️ Movie 14 min --
2014

The Reopening of the Franklin Trail was produced by Emmy Nominated Larry Nimmer and sponsored by The City of Carpinteria and the Carpinteria Historical Museum. The film documents the historic use of the Franklin Trail and the process by which the trail was reestablished. The trail is an historic route from Carpinteria to Jameson Lake in the Los Padres National Forest. The trail had been closed for decades and there had been no access to Carpinteria's back country until the recent reopening. The film features spectacular footage of the foothills and historical images from the Carpinteria Museum. The key players tell the story of how the property owners, government agencies and volunteers worked together to once again provide access to the wilderness behind Carpinteria.
