'My roots lie here' explores the relationship of four elderly Cubans to the homes they have lived in all of their lives. Filmed on location in Cuba, my camera acts as an interloper, carefully caressing the interiors of each house and it's occupant. The video is contemplative, slowly paced, visually rich and textured. These people have a ferocious attachment to their homes. Home is what keeps them anchored. it may be a struggle to stay on their home due to their own advanced age, decline of the physical condition of the house and financial constants. But there home is the space that keeps them alive and rooted in both the past and the present. It is their future as well.
