A young man hallucinates horrific visions of his dead girlfriend while receiving treatment in a medical clinic. His transfixed grief centers around repetitive images of drowning, sadomasochistic violence, and isolation. Induced by the element water, the troubled man becomes face to face with the truth of his girlfriend's death, and how this truth binds him as the guilty party.
