Sometimes young people feel they're not right - not brave enough, not funny enough, not interesting, not loved, not smart or not needed. Sometimes the best remedy for being 'Stuck in your own head' is to change focus. They need to ask: 'What can i do for someone else?' People Like Us reminds us that people are not perfect and that's okay. For young people, images of the ideal and the perfect - perfect body, perfect job, perfect life - are pervasive but ultimately empty. People like Us shows a group of unexceptional youths have an unexpected experience with people with disability. It highlights humanity's similarities and strengths and encourages the viewer to re-evaluate their own perceptions of young people, challenges and social inclusion.
