This film I wrote-produced-edited-directed takes place in a cafe in both 1969 and 1975, tracing the complications of the romance between a Vietnam soldier and an anti-war woman. Frank, aware that he has changed significantly from his experience in war, apologizes to Julie for all the harm he has caused her. He does so by using the cafe's phone to leave her a voice-mail. As he realizes how blinded he was, Julie realizes that she needs to stand up for herself and finds her voice as a woman in this era of social change. At the end, Frank finds a joyful Julie at the cafe and ultimately wishes her happiness. It closes with a song I wrote-sang, which I recorded with the Chicago Music Library.
