Barb Bloomfield is the author of a popular relationship column in Boston. Every week her words are read by an adoring fan base. One morning over coffee her best friend Nathan reveals he has submitted her work to his boss- a local publishing Giant. Barb is thrilled only to find shortly thereafter that the relationship she's based her column on has imploded. The publishing deadline is approaching rapidly, but how can anyone credit a relationship author who can't maintain a relationship? Turning to her friends for support, the answer to the problem becomes obvious- Barb needs to write not about a relationship, but about dating. 'But what is the dating scene right now?'
