Lanny returns home to check on her mother Janet and work out her quarter-life crises only to find her mother caught in a battle of wills with her neighbor and dead set on succeeding from the United States. Lanny's issues of millennial ennui clash with Janet's survivalist plans in this sharp and poignant portrayal of the shifting roles of parents and children and the altering state of our rural world.
