Fugue

In music a fugue is a contrapuntal composition technique in two or more voices. A motive that is introduced at the beginning in imitation and recurs frequently in the course of the composition. Fugue (2015) is a formal, personal and physical experiment in order to explore the relation between movement, sound and image. Movements and setting are informed by motion studies from the 1920s as well as ideas from bio-mechanics, a form of actor's training. The movements that appear in the image are also printed on the side of the optical soundtrack of the film stock. What you hear is what you see. Or the image recurs as sound and the sound recurs as movement.
