Frank, a lonely, disabled artist discovers an escape hatch into a magical painted world where he is no longer crippled and the gorgeous woman of his dreams adores him. The possibility for a good life in the real world opens up when he begins a relationship with his home health aide/muse. Eventually Frank must chose to whether to live in the sometimes joyful, sometimes painful real world with a real woman or to remain in the seemingly always blissful painted world with a woman who is only a fantasy, ... or is she?
