A stiff sergeant notices one of his socks is missing from his usual drawer. He calls up his commanding officers to investigate the matter. Upon lining up the recruits, he sees that one of the men has bandages on his feet, therefore suspects he was the one that stole his socks. The new recruit admits to the theft and the sergeant has him shot. They cover it it up by telling his family he was humbly lost in battle.
