Benji the Dove
It was the summer that would change everything in Elgin, Texas for twelve-year-old Benjamin and his two best friends, Jeff and Manny. A lifelong battle with menacing town bully, Howie the Hood, takes a turn when Roland moves into town from Scotland with a passion for Round Table stories and heroic deeds. The boys' creativity runs wild to form The Order of the Red Dragon, a local brotherhood of young knights determined to fight injustice with justice. Protected in makeshift medieval shields and armour, they set out to avenge the death of Grandma Dell's beloved cat Socrates. But when hothead Jeff becomes jealous of Roland and finds the Order's mock fencing too benign, he leaves to join the dangerous rival Black Feather gang. When the tension boils to the point of true life and death, Benjamin must find the courage to stand up for what he believes and for those he loves.
