This intimate film portrait explores how a woman raised in an Orthodox, working class community became a radical feminist conceptual artist. Aylon was engaged to a rabbi at age 17 and didn't venture towards becoming an artist until her forties. In 1982, Aylon commandeered a monumental cross-country trip to 'rescue' nuclear contaminated earth. She continues to make art including an installation and performance work in which she attempts to liberate G-d. Helene Aylon will charm and mystify you with her endlessly hopeful view of humanity, art and her faith.
