On the Road to Salkehatchie tells the story of Salkehatchie Summer Service. The film documents the never-ending love story experienced by all during a week at Black Swamp, the site of the first Salkehatchie camp. Beginning with it's start in 1978 and following it's explosive growth through the state of South Carolina, the film celebrates the miracle of hope in the face of despair. The selflessness of the participants and the unwavering faith of the homeowners weave together to craft a story of complete strength, compassion, and love.
