On the banks of the Dee River, in the North of Scotland, there is a Camphill Community where volunteer live alongside children with special needs in an atmosphere of mutual care and respect. Seen from the outside the patience, dedication and energy of the volunteers are nothing short of saintly. But Side by Side allows the audience an honest view from within, of the volunteers' own special need for community life.
