After a brutal hit-and-run in the dead cold of Winter, Emily finds herself in the care of an amnesia rehabilitation clinic for several years. During her therapy she befriends the hospital gardener Robert, an alcoholic loner. The pair bond through their difficult life situation with Emily desperately trying to recover her lost memories as Robert attempts to repress his own. A fledgling romance evolves between the pair but Roberts motives prove to have an ulterior and revealingly sinister purpose.
