'The Long Night Followed' looks at the very real and often frightening long term effect of child abuse. The film is set to the backdrop of a narrated poem that outlines the plight of 'Mac', a survivor who has exhausted isolation and addiction to reach a place where he is finally ready to confront, not just the trauma that destroyed his innocence, but also the pain that he himself inflicted on those who would care for him in later life. The film highlights how, in forgiving others, we can reclaim the right to, once again, believe in ourselves.
