Since 1961, various regional TV stations across Australia produced their own version of Aweful Movies with Deadly Earnest. TVQ-0 Brisbane produced their version between 1967-1968 with Shane Porteous as Deadly Earnest. When Porteous left for Sydney in 1968, the show change to 'Frightful Movie' with John Dommett as Professor Macabre. There is no record of the show passed 1968.
