Gamma-ray Bursts: Signals from the Beginning of the World

They are signals from the edge of the universe and occur in the most powerful explosions since the Big Bang: gamma-ray bursts. Today's astronomers are observing them intensively with satellite and ground-based telescopes. Nevertheless, the phenomenon still leaves many mysteries unsolved.
