The film starts on a late summer afternoon, Mica is lost in the virtual reality world of her Screens. As Mica attempts to hide in plain sight, a 22 year old stranger, Diana, interrupts Mica's session. Diana reveals that she doesn't wear Screens at all and Mica is somewhat embarrassed by her addiction to her Screens yet too stubborn to give them up. However, before Mica can hide again, she is visited by her imaginary friend, Sonic. He takes her back to a place in her mind, a place where she used to have full reign of her imagination, otherwise known as The Grove.
