Divorce rate in the United States remains one of the highest in the world. Research shows that almost 50 percent of married couples in the United States divorce; and the divorce rate for subsequent marriages is even higher. Many immigrants end up getting married to Americans after migrating to the U.S. But due to cultural differences, among other reasons, most of the unions break apart and sometimes children are involved. This story explores some of the challenges a child faces when her divorced parents move on with their lives with other partners.
