A woman, a brigatist, from her cellar, talks about herself, tells her story, relives her life, her thoughts and reasons, through the story of another woman, Anna. Anna is the best friend of the brigatist's son, Salvatore. He feels himself alone, he loves his mother but he hates her past because it stole her from him. He starts to understand his mother thanks to Anna and her strength. As a matter of fact, Anna decides to realize an enterprise and involves in it Salvatore and the companion of his mother, Guglielmo. Anna wants to steal the coffin of a communist, who was, in the meantime, the man she loves.
