Armed with a 3,000 dollar budget, first time directors Tom Feeney and Fez Shah do a bang-up job with this mockumentary. Tom Davis, played by Tom Feeney, is a fraudulent doctor who tells his patients they have cancer with the hope that they will no longer take their lives for granted. As it turns out Nick Feeney, played by AMC's "Halt and Catch Fire" star, Nick Pupo, is the one patient who's life is so far in the dumps, he has nothing to reevaluate. The jokes are far from cheap in this comedy, everyone is a character, and hilarity ensues with the day to day operation of the practice. The film is by no means perfect, but for a group of students in their early twenties and a budget that small, they really pulled off something impressive. In terms of scope, think Mark Duplass's "The Puffy Chair," or Danny McBride's "The Footfist Way." I really recommend giving this one a watch.
