In August of 1970, Darrel Rifken drives through the countryside on his way back from a hunting trip. Among the large empty fields and long desolate road walks Miles Caputo, a grimy hitchhiker in need of a ride. The two strangers have no choice but to break the dead silence and talk. However their conversation is cut short when they discover that they share dangerously similar intentions.
