Singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt died on Christmas Day 2009 at the age of 45 of a self-induced drug overdose. Although not well known to the masses, he attained a tremendous amount of critical acclaim and was revered by many well-known artists. (REM, Madonna, Billy Bob Thornton) For the past six years, he and I began chronicling his recordings. His capacity to express life and living through words and music was his gift, and I am honored to share it on film. While this partial rough cut is missing many important elements (which have been filmed and just need to be added), I felt it was important to submit this film this year because of the proximity to his death. The final cut will be approximately 45 minutes.
