Hank, a frustrated and confused playwright, is on the verge of giving up writing and settling down with his long-suffering girlfriend when old friend and collaborator Sid, a bored director with delusions of grandeur, talks Hank into going one more round into the depths of theatre. The two plunge into Hank's play with visions of critical glory in their heads, letting nothing, especially each other, get in the way.
