'I Was Born That Way' is about a British, 30-something year old hermaphrodite, Frances, who decides to relocate in NYC and start a new life. Self-aware of its condition, Frances has a hard time creating and trusting people, particularly in intimate relationships. Frances begins to date a fellow teacher Robert, both work at a continuation school for troubled teens. However, things get complicated when they want to take their relationship to the next level. Frances struggles to tell Robert the condition it has, which impedes their on-going courtship.
