El Desafio

This is a documentary narrated by musicians of rock music in Havana, Cuba. They tell their struggles to make rock music during a time period (40 years) in Cuba when anything American was forbidden and yet they found the ways to learn English lyrics to play rock music in underground places. They became experts at making their own musical instruments and at making rudimentary rooftop antennas to steal radio station signals from Miami and listen to American rock music. They learned the Beatles' songs but were unaware that they were playing their music. When allowed to play in public they could only do it in Spanish so they sang the Beatles songs in Spanish. This is a story of courage and love for the art of rock music.
