Roots in Concrete

The story is based in Inglewood, CA. A young African American teen named Toni. She is faced with the wrongful death of her younger sister Joy who is murdered after being accused of stealing. Toni navigates the first days of her grieving process alongside her mother and a neighborhood friend. Together, they work to hold the family intact in the aftermath. This film not only focuses on the loss of a child, but what can be lost within those closely effected by it. Inspired by the life and death of Latasha Harlins #sayhername
