A teenage girl, her younger brother and their mother pass through a hostile area on foot, hoping to reach the sea and flee. Despite the lack of food and shelter and bands of looters, the children seem to cope. But the mother, exhausted, is gradually losing ground. When her behavior ultimately threaten their survival of all three, the girl has to make a decision.
