The sun edges above the Parisian skyline as hazy memories of the previous night bear down on Jacob in flashes: drinks, smoke, music. But something isn't right. Where is Margot? A deep, growing unease characterizes the last few hours abroad for Jacob as he combs the streets of Paris for any trace of his vanished sister, Margot. Piecing together the clues from the previous night proves difficult for Jacob; his memories are obscured by the blur of those inebriated hours, and his friends Ellie and Cameron, anxious to catch their plane home, are of little help. Overcome with regret for giving in to distractions far more desirable than babysitting his underage sister, Jacob begins to realize that his responsibility was never to turn naive and alienated Margot into the wild party-going companion his friends finally succeeded into making her. Jacob, fearing the worst, sifts through his recollection of their time in Paris to see if all along there has been a clue to where Margot is and why she might have disappeared.
