Respectability

Set in the early 20th century, young man George Willard encounters the railroad station agent Wash Williams and learns from him the origins of his bitter attitude to life--his failed marriage. Adapted from the short story of the same name from 'Winesburg, Ohio', the 1919 short story collection written by Sherwood Anderson.
