The protagonist of our story is a psychiatrist who has earned a considerable amount of fame in her profession at quite a young age -- in short she is famous. She is strong willed, confident and apparently tough, according to her all her pains and anxieties are her extremely personal affairs. That inside the hard exterior resides a sensitive mind is something that we come to know much late -- in fact at the end of the story. A mother brings her depressed teenage son to the psychiatrist, initially the son does not want to cooperate, but eventually and gradually we come to know about the primary reasons of his depression, his disturbed childhood, his loneliness, his relation with his mother and also the personal life of the mother -- her disappointments, sufferings, sacrifices, and infirmities. When the teenage son was nearing his recovery, they discontinue his treatment and we never get to see him again. One day, after a long time we see the boy's mother in the chamber narrating an incident -- which is not only unexpected to the psychologist but also extremely painful. And on that very day another incident take place -- these two incidents completely shake her from the roots. So much so that, in spite of being at the pinnacle of success she abandons everything in a decision taken overnight.
