A 17 year old mime, Walter, and the ceramic dog he performs on the street with, François, learn the positive and negative consequences of growing up and moving forward in life. The theme deals with the idea that in order to gain something new and exciting in life, one must lose something that once felt safe. Consisting of a love story and a true friendship, François is a story filled with fun and whimsical mime performances, love, and heartbreak. However, with a positive twist, François presents Walter with a new and optimistic view of the world. It is a silent film with homages to Charlie Chaplin, Casablanca and the more recent film Beginners.
