Signposts

Former NFL quarterback Tom Parker has become a border patrol officer in the American southwest, but having a serious gambling problem, he has turned to smuggling drugs to pay off his debts. When he rescues an assault victim, local townspeople suspect that the woman was a victim of a local smuggler whose infamy had made the smuggler into a folk hero. Tensions in the border town grow until Tom's actions are questioned. The following conflict has Tom seen as both a hero and villain.
