The story is about a boy who lost his mother in an incident of his own doing, who carries the burden of his mother's death and who moves to a new town hoping to escape his troubles. The main character, Gage Gabriel, practices martial arts to escape his feelings and release the constant stress of his mother's death. The new school he attends is ruled by a bully named Mark Fletcher who is also very skilled in martial arts. Throughout the film Mark displays his rude and controlling personality by bullying innocent students. When Gage moves to the school, he quickly discovers Mark's horrible personality and feels that the only way he can make up for his selfish behavior, that contributed to his mother's death, is to stand up to him and show the school that the bully isn't invincible. His first act puts him in the principal's office and temporarily suspended from school. When he comes back, Gage is greeted by more of Mark's mischief.Gage tries to control himself, but ends up trying to be the hero again. He still fails at trying to protect the innocent, but this time somebody recognizes his selflessness and offers to help him put an end to Mark's deeds once and for all by telling him about a mixed martial arts tournament that Mark enters in every year. When Gage goes to the tournament, everyone knows why he's there and those who Mark bullies are all on the sidelines watching. The last round is Gage and Mark on a one on one, the fight depicting whether or not the kids get to live their lives in peace or if they will continue to be ruled by Mark Fletcher.
