Agni reflects upon a very sensitive and explosive terrain of female experience - rape - and its aftermath. The film treads a difficult and tricky path, the razor's edge between love and lust, love and violence, love and possession, flesh and mind, all sometimes coalescing and conflicting at other times, in an effort to grapple with a traumatic experience of violation of the extreme kind - of one's body, mind and personality.
