Living in an apartment in the heart of Times Square, Ichiro quickly finds New Year's Eve more annoying than festive. Disgruntled, he spends an anticlimactic countdown alone. But then, he realizes he is not alone. The gods have sent him Sadako, the eerie Ghost of New Year's, who may have an agenda that will alter Ichiro's fate.
