From 1973 to 2003 the Santa Barbara Writers Conference hosted literary giants such as Ray Bradbury, Charles Schulz and Eudora Welty to further its mission to foster new writers, some of whom became bestselling authors including Fannie Flagg, Catherine Ryan Hyde and Gayle Lynds.
