The animated film was based on the plots of the northern tales of the writer Stepan Pisakhov. Tales are more like fables, funny fantasies of the narrator. The off-screen text is masterfully read by the wonderful Soviet actor Evgeniy Leonov. The fiction is called "Eternal Ice Floes". The village stands on the river, where eternal ice floes. It is on them that the locals move around, as on a sleigh. Instead of triples, big fish are harnessed, and bears work as coachmen.
